Most families book 2–4 weeks before their baby’s first birthday, so the final gallery is ready in time to share at their party or on the big day.
The cake is not included due to allergy concerns, but I’ll provide a cake stand and topper. I can also recommend local bakeries if you’d like suggestions.
A small 6” round cake with soft frosting (buttercream or whipped cream but not fondant) works perfectly. Lighter colors also photograph better than dark ones.
That’s totally okay! Some babies dive right in, others just pick at the frosting, and a few prefer to skip the cake altogether. I follow your baby’s lead and capture their personality either way. I also have some tricks up my sleeve on ways we can "fake it"
Cake smash sessions are designed just for your little one, with backdrops and setups sized to fit them perfectly. Because of this, I don’t typically include family or sibling portraits during these sessions. If you’d like family images around the same time, I recommend booking a family session in addition to the cake smash.
Cake smash sessions definitely get a little messy, but don't worry, I take care of all the cleanup. You can also add tub time at the end for sweet photos and a quick rinse for your baby. I do recommend bringing a change of clothes for your little one (and even for yourself) just in case you want to freshen up afterward.
Every one of my cake smash sessions is completely personalized. Rather than using the same setup for every family, I create a design based on your baby's personality, colors you love, and your chosen theme so your portraits feel unique.
